If you’re like me and you don’t like the fact that Google has an old cache of your site or pages and you’re running a blog then you do have options.

Nowadays people are churning out content and trying to remain in top position for their selected category or niche and it’s getting harder and harder to write unique content, so coming up with an idea on what the hell to blog about is actually really hard.

Now back to the matter at hand. Many of my pages in Google’s cache are displaying the error when some bastards tried to hack my site:

As you can see this is appearing in the ‘btard’ category. It is a dumb category, and meaningless I know but it was a test term that this whole site was based around way back. I have some work to do.

So you, like me have a (WordPress) blog and you have a cached listing that you want to update so why not make a post (like this one) and check that box relevant to the category (and search result page) and hope that your pinger tells google that you want a refresh on that cache.

Well, that will work. That image above was snapped on “2010-03-13 at 9.18.53 AM” (the image name is “Screen shot 2010-03-13 at 9.18.53 AM.png”). We’ll see how long it takes to fix the cache.

I’ll follow up with other ways to update cached listings.

I am very annoyed to report that my third Casio Exilim has bitten the dust :(

First I had the slimline 3.2 megapixel spy cam, then I got the 7.2 megapixel . I broke this whiles skateboarding down a steep grass bank. I replaced that camera when I moved to Montreal in Sepetmber, 2005. I think I am going to have to get a new tech camera, I hear you can get a decent 10 megapixel yoke now! W00T!

We’ll see how it goes. Watch this space.

Oh crap, “Blade II” (official movie site, I didn’t know they still maintained these) has just started on TV, I wanted to write a quick post about a UK TV show “Celebrity Big Brother“, I might watch this movie, even though I know it’s a bit of a stinker but you should know by now that I’m a Marvel geek so yes, I’ll be watching this movie now. Maybe I’ll write about “Celebrity Big Brother” later.

When they use the term celebrity, they really are using it very loosely. The only thing they have going for it is that one of my old school heroes is on the show. Dirk Benedict play Lieutenant Templeton “Faceman” Peck (AKA Face) on the A-Team. That show was dope but man is the guy a bore on TV! Apparently he cured himself of Prostate cancer with some weird macrobiotic diet. Nice one Dirk.

So remember, if you have a problem, and nobody else can help, maybe you can appear on “Celebrity Big Brother”.

WordPress upgrade to 2.1

Today I upgraded to version 2.1 of WordPress. As I’m writing this I am deliberately making typos to see how the new in-built spell checker works with this. Also, it has a tab set at the top of the editor with a visual/code section. No longer do you have to pop the HTML window to edit or tweak the code or add new code.

PS. Just spellchecked, but I don’t see the point. I use FireFox and that already has that built in. I understand not everyone does, but meh, nonetheless.

Being a btard is pretty much a social and an internet experiment. I have never needed to admit this, because I have told you (the readers) this all along.

My phenomenal beatboxing abilities obviously lend itself to btardedness, however, the power of the internet and managing to somewhat manipulate search engine page results (we call the SERPs in the business) is something that was running in the background.

I manipulated a lot of the scenarios that I wrote about on the internet just to rank for certain phrases or keywords. Btard being one of them. I started up a lens about btard, this was an experiment to use this framework to add to the relevance of the word in the engines, it had limited success, it wasn’t great. I don’t see how any of this is at all admittance for cheating you, I mean, some of the things I wrote about (braun handblender incident for example) were not staged. It’s up to you to wonder what was. I better get back to work on reading all my work emails after doing a full days work here. Fun times but I realize that I can’t wait to get back to normality in Canada. Ok, spellcheck and post! Ciao.

DHL suck

Mother and grandmother sent me a holiday/christmas package containing presents for me and Alyssa. She sends it via DHL.

So I get the call at 8.46am from her (mother’s) mobile phone in a noisy public place shouting at me which was REALLY annoying because I was already thinking of how tired I was before the coffee rush kicked in.

Long story short, those btards at DHL couldn’t be bothered scrolling down on my frikking directory and calling us in our apartment. They said the delivery was “refused”‘, in reality, those mofo’s just didn’t bother scrolling on our directory and finding us. There was no buzzer code, so they stated that we refused delivery. Ass monkeys. Damn you DHL, you suck! Check the picture thumbnail for the lies they spin!!!

We all knew Adobe’s Scalable Vector Graphics sucked so it was no surprise that the giant multi-media software company announced a planned acquisition of Macromedia in April, 2005. However, it was only today when looking at my new snowboard at nidecker.com that I realized Adobe made the switch.

I was actually talking to Alyssa on messenger and sent her the url of the board. Queue the conversation:

Alyssa says: i am not getting a pic from the link for the board
Carlo says: its the board at the top of the page.
Alyssa says: apparently i have to install Adobe to see it

Long story short, I didn’t realize Adobe was on the footer of the right-click flash menu ;)

Salem’s Lot (1979) (TV) – was without a doubt the best movie ever made. When I was around the age of 10 I was watching it with my uncle Mario, with soap drying on our faces, mimicking the undead faces of vampires. I imagine that was around 22 years ago and to this day, it’s still a great movie. I’ll stand by that choice even although Alyssa thinks it is trash, however, it’s one of those movies I can always joke about with her from now onwards. I think it’s funny anyway. I am going to eat now, watch the movie, bye.

Touch Generations Nintendo DS web browser

The Sony PSP already comes with a browser. Nintendo could have incorporated this certainly with the lauch of the DS Lite if not with the original DS. Sony have always been pretty good with things like this, I don’t know why Nintendo are so stuck about it too with outsourcing this to TG which obviously affects the consumer and now they have to spend.

I am very disappointed with this. I don’t think this will be popular, why pay for a free browser and browse on a tiny screen when you can use other means that are free, more accessible and offer a better user experience. I am stoked on my PSP, no need for me to upgrade to the DS lite handheld console.

OK, so not only has Ricky made an appearance on Alias but our Ricky also found himself chilling alongside Homer, Marge and the kids on the Simpsons. Does this mean he’s a mega star now? Well, if his appearance on the show doesn’t do it, how about if he writes it?

In this episode his character appears very much David Brent-like. He moves in with Marge as the Simpson family takes part in an episode of Fox version of Wife Swap. Ricky’s a star, the Office is awesome and the US version sucks!
