When they use the term celebrity, they really are using it very loosely. The only thing they have going for it is that one of my old school heroes is on the show. Dirk Benedict play Lieutenant Templeton “Faceman” Peck (AKA Face) on the A-Team. That show was dope but man is the guy a bore on TV! Apparently he cured himself of Prostate cancer with some weird macrobiotic diet. Nice one Dirk.

So remember, if you have a problem, and nobody else can help, maybe you can appear on “Celebrity Big Brother”.

PS. New Robin Williams movie “Man of the Year“. It’s a stinker, if you’ve seen the trailer then that’s all you need to see. He is a comedian, he gets elected, the voting system is screwed, the woman who discovers the bug contacts Robin, he steps down and becomes a comedian. And of course they fall in love en route. What a farce!

If like me you are a complete and utter movie/Marvel Comics freak then you’ll know about the new third installment of “X-Men – The Last Stand“.

The juggernaut video is hilarious and one of the main reasons why I know this latest X-Men installment will be good is because Vinnie Jones has been vast as Cain Marko who then becomes Juggernaut. To say I’m excited is an understatement. Also, you gotta check out the video parody because the stuff he says in the comic is in the video which is then translated in the movie when Shadowcat (Kitty Pryde) takes him into the solid surface floor :)

Other notable appearances include Kelsey Grammer as Dr Hank McCoy better known as Beast. I’m pretty sure this is his first outing in an action movie let alone as a super hero! There are a whole bunch of Canadians in the movie too such as Shawn Ashmore as Bobby Drake or Iceman, Anna Paquin as Marie / Rouge, Ellen Page as Kitty Pryde / Shadowcat, Daniel Cudmore as Piotr Rasputin / Colussus and young Cameron Bright as Leech.

Supposed to be an excellent video game to movie crossover. I may go to see it, but it’s possible that I am going to be scared by it. Have you ever played the game? it’s creeeeeepy.

I miss going on roadtrips with my friends. The LxBxP, the dirtbags, like that trip to Sheffield, the southern sessions, Stevenage, Prague, Redcar, Barcelona, Livi fun days, Cornwall and the Clodgie. Barry puking 12 times in Cornwall, Rem and Russ Weasel skating the concrete half pipe in Stevenage and Rem chasing me to try to puke on me, the mungle jungle and STILL waiting to see the picture of that wall ride to fakie I did on that vertical post – pull your fucking finger out Willy! So many memories.

Willy, Howard, Barry, Rem, Spoons, Ad, Ade, Nicky, Hoppy, Fred, Slim, Frost and all the dirtbag LxBxP kids are all left behind in England and I wish they were here I sure as hell miss them.

I hired a van last week wit ha guy from work so I could furnish my apartment and met a skater about my edge and all injured and fucked up from skateboarding. He was a typical skateboarder, I knew straight away he was a skater. Anyway he hooked me up with some people to go skate some bowls and transitions and shit.

I’ll be honest – I’ve lost touch. I don’t know why I am not skating so much these days. That needs to change.

Notable appearances from Laurence Fishburne, Angela Basset and relative newcomer Keke Palmer, I’m going to see this. It’s a starbucks movie too, free coffee? It’s definitely a good family film, showing the positive effects of community, how caring for your neighbors can make a difference.

* I’ve moved in to this place – check the photos of the view from my new pad. It’s a pretty cool apartment and all I need to get now is a couch and a coffee table and some other nick nacks. Not a lot to go it’s pretty much done. I like the way there is a cinema in the building :) It also has it’s own gym and a movie room as well as a pool, hot tub, sauna/steam room, pool table, you name it. Not a bad pad at all.

Woody Allen’s “Matchpoint” – Passion Temptation Obsession

Chris Wilton (Jonathan Rhys Meyers) – former tennis pro, finds himself employed in a well-to-do London tennis club as a tennis instructor. He meets Tom Hewett (Matthew Goode), an upper class well-to-do young man.

Tom’s sister Chloe (Emily Mortimer) falls in love with Chris but Chris has his eyes on Tom’s fiancee, Nola (Scarlett Johansson). Both Chris and Nola know it’s wrong but what could be more right than love? Chris tries to juggle both women but at some point, he must choose between them… Murder rears its ugly head, it’s not pretty and it’s not an obvious Woody Allen flick, I loved it so much.

Another big thing was seeing all the familiar faces such as Paul Kaye as the estate agent, Brian Cox, Penelope Wilton, Rupert Penry-Jones, John Fortune, James Nesbitt, Ewen Bremner, etc, etc.

Duncan Tucker’s “Transamerica” – Life is more than the sum of its parts

This is in fact THE latest movie I’ve seen. A pre-operative, male-to-female transsexual, holds down two jobs and saves every penny so that she can pay for one last operation that will make her a woman at last.

One day she receives a strange out of the blue phone call from her son, jailed in New York. Her son, Toby (Kevin Zegers) is the product of a somewhat clumsy sexual encounter years ago when she was a man.

Bree (Felicity Huffman) flies from Los Angeles to New York in order to get the boy out of jail. At first she is reluctant to do so, but her therapist convinces her to face up to her past. The boy is handed over to her without a word of explanation for a dollar and Toby believes the woman to be some Christian missionary determined to convert reprobates to Jesus.

Bree sees no reason to clear up the misunderstanding. However, she finds out that the boy just wants to escape from her and hitchhike to Los Angeles. She persuades him to accompany her back to the west coast secretly planning to leave him at his stepfather’s along the way. Toby is happy to take her up on her offer.

Huffman, is an Oscar nominee for this role. I haven’t fucking seen Walk the Line yet damn it, but I just hope she wins it, she’s up against Reese Witherspoon who is heavily tipped. It’s humourous, witty, heartbreaking, sensitive and an interesting look at gender and identity. You must see this movie.

Alyssa wanted to watch Salem’s Lot again but I said “NO!”, come on girl ;)

I get a little bit carried away when I decide to let myself go and spend money in HMV. Check out the latest movies I have wasted my “hard” earned dollar on.

The 2 or 3 items for 30 bucks is a BIG attraction to me. It’s sometimes hard to find the third DVD though. I don’t buy many music titles at once, if I do this I don’t get a chance to listen to each CD.

Check what I got today, I had to get “the Karate Kid” soundtrack, obviously. “Kung Pow” is just a classic. I remember watching “Lost Highway” way back, independent movie theatre in Liverpool, it’s gone now. David Lynch, hrmmm… As Liverpool approaches the “City of Culture” in 2008 it seems to have lost a lot of its old culture, its quickly becoming a very modern, new city. I can’t wait to see it next time.

It’s Valentines Day eve… I am making preparations for Miss Jacobs. Must go.

Plot Outline – Vietnam vet John Rambo is forced to rise from the shadows of his reclusive existence and take justice into his own hands after a (random?) girl goes missing…

Sounds awesome! I can’t wait! :)

Rocky Balboa (Rocky VI)

Rocky Balboa is now a fifty-something (60 in real life) widower running a small restaurant in Philadelphia. Yeah, there you go spoliler from me! Adrienne is deceased. Meanwhile, the World Heavyweight Boxing Champion, Mason “The Line” Dixon is kicking up a storm within his sport. Rocky feels the need to enter the ring once more and make an epic comeback.

Sounds like an awesome installation of what should (but will it) be the final Rocky movie.
