I am unable to delete folder and files via ftp and Cpanel. This is the folder:

/wp-content/uploads/2007/02/delete-me/

It was actually created by another (unauthorised) user because I (being a dumbass) had CHMOD’d the folder to 777. Doh.

Can you delete it for me, apparently whoever wrote the files there didn’t use my username/group and I tried to CHOWN it back to me.

The permissions on all the folders are changed to your user and you will now be able to delete the files at your wish.

Thanks Thomas, I appreciate it. I hate these btards putting files my server. My bad for leaving directories open for writing. I’m sweeping through the directories and changing directories that are set to 777 to 755.

Having directory browsing switched off will help somewhat too I imagine, now they can’t trawl through so easily and find vulnerable directories so easily.

Researchers at UC Davis have discovered microbes that can quite literally help the process of rock forming by converting lose sediment into the hard stuff. Although only tested on a lab scale, Bacillus Pasteurii, could be the answer to soil liquefaction caused my earthquakes.

It is suggested that the majority of the destruction from a Vancouver Earthquake could come in the form of mass movement or soil/earth liquefaction, a process where soft deposits such as clay, are converted to a jellylike state by severe shaking causing a situation where structures (buildings) could sink and collapse. Eeeeek!

A quake registering 7.3 on the Richter scale was last experienced way back in 1946. A quake of 7.3 is classified as “major” on the Richter scale and can cause serious damage over larger areas. One thing we have to remember is that construction and infrastructure standards have come a long way so I wonder if these scales of magnitude (like Richter or Mercalli) actually take into consideration these new developments? The Richer scale was developed in 1935 and Mercalli in 1902, surely this needs updated? Anyone have any thoughts on this?

Sidenote: I am still ruling at foosball in the office. We are currently interviewing for two positions here and any newcomers are going to be looked upon as potential rivals. The Juan de Fuca plate is being forced under the North American plate creating a “subduction zone”. This subduction has formed a lot of magnificent mountain areas in the Cascade Volcanic Belt (where volcanic mountains have formed that are not all within the Cascade Range). The movement of one plate beneath each other is never a smooth process and they tend to lock up until it reaches a point where there is so much pressure and stress that it violently moves. It is this mass movement that causes an earthquake.

I can see Mount Baker from my window but there are many other mountains that you may have heard about in and around Vancouver, BC such as:

I don’t think we’re going to die but if we were living on Vancouver Island I would be worried, as Vancouver Island is a direct formation resulting from plate tectonic activity. Stop worrying Alyssa! They said the delivery was “refused”‘, in reality, those mofo’s just didn’t bother scrolling on our directory and finding us. There was no buzzer code, so they stated that we refused delivery. The best magic card tricks I’ve seen ever were performed today on Granville Street by some crazy mumbling guy with no teeth high on “perc”. Several card tricks later I gave him two bucks and so did “gangbang” stammler. He was a pretty dope trickster.

He was wearing sketchy latex gloves and he shook my hand, “gangbang” didn’t want to touch him. In fact he reached out his hand and “gangbang” kinda said in no uncertain terms that it grossed him out and no thanks. I loved his story about the forgetting to put his insoles in his boots and how somone stole his other shoes “but thats ok because welfare will be getting me some new ones next week”.

Plus he popped a whole bunch of perc’s because they got wet.

All in all a good shoe and he told us that if we saw him hustling we should get his back and cheer him on and we agreed to which he reached out his hand in a fist and I gave him homie pounds.
